our process
Practical Engineering from Approval to Construction
Every residential project is different, but the engineering process should be clear. GCE works closely with homeowners, designers, builders and other consultants to understand the project, identify the engineering requirements and develop practical solutions that consider design, approvals and construction from the outset.
how it works
Whether it’s a single wall removal or a new home with structural, civil and stormwater requirements, every GCE project follows the same clear process. One engineering team takes your project from the first review of your plans through design, approval and construction, so you always know what happens next and who to talk to.
01. Send Us Your Project Information
Plans, survey, photos, existing engineering, council/certifier correspondence and any other available project information.
02. Scope & Fee Proposal
GCE reviews the available information, identifies the engineering services required and provides a clear fee proposal.
03. Existing Information & Site Review
Where required, we review existing structures, site conditions, levels, access, drainage and other constraints that may influence the engineering.
04. Engineering Design
Structural, civil and stormwater requirements are developed and coordinated with the architectural design and other project consultants.
05. Engineering Documentation
We prepare the relevant engineering drawings, calculations, reports and supporting documentation for the project.
06. Approval & Design Documentation
GCE works with the designer, builder and other consultants to resolve engineering matters arising through the approval and documentation process.
07. Construction Support
During construction, we can assist with engineering queries, site conditions, design changes and practical construction solutions.
08. Inspections & Engineering Certification
Where required, GCE undertakes construction-stage inspections and provides appropriate engineering documentation or certification relating to our scope.
